Session Description: This session includes two interrelated segments – 1) Data from the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS), which monitors six categories of health-related behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death and disability among youth and adults, including – behaviors that contribute to unintentional injuries and violence, sexual behaviors related to unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, alcohol and other drug use, and tobacco use (among others); 2) Discussion how Juvenile Treatment Court teams can use the data highlighted to consider gaps in services and take steps to fill those gaps.
Learner Objectives:

      • Identify emerging mental health trends that may impact services in your community.
      • Recognize practical responses to meet the needs of youth in your community.
