Detective Gaston served over eight (8) years as a Task Force Officer with the Washington Diversion Office, Tactical Diversion Squad (“TDS”) as a Task Force Officer with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration as a Narcotics Investigator. The Drug Enforcement Administration, Tactical Diversion Squad, investigates criminal violations related to diversion of pharmaceutical controlled dangerous substances.
Detective Gaston has received training in general law enforcement and in narcotic law enforcement from the Prince George’s County Police Academy. Detective Gaston furthered her experience by attending The Rockville Police Department class on drugs, prostitution investigations, illegal gambling operations, and undercover operations. As part of the Rockville Police Department’s training pertaining to illegal gambling operations, Detective Gaston was trained on matters pertaining to table games, dice games, slot machines, and the various nuances pertaining to those operations. In addition, this investigator also attended a week long Narcotic Investigation School hosted by the Maryland State Police, Top Gun (MD X) relating to all aspects of Narcotics, Undercover Operations and Conspiracy Investigations. Detective Gaston completed a two week course in Basic Narcotics Investigation instructed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Detective Gaston completed a week course as a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Detective Gaston completed a week course in Tactical Diversion and a week course in Advance Tactical Diversion covering physician expert witness, document and media exploitation support in diversion cases, asset forfeiture, diversion databases and basic investigative techniques, investigations on pill mill pharmacy and pharmaceutical death, search warrants in diversion cases, international diversion cases, title III investigations, complex conspiracies, suboxone clinics case study, effective pain management, vulnerable victims and international Diversion hosted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Detective Gaston has received training for Project Exile/Firearms Arrest Procedures hosted by the Prince George’s County Police Department. Detective Gaston has received training in Interdiction hosted by HIDTA in Drug Trafficking. Detective Gaston has received training in Pharmaceutical (Rx) Diversion hosted by the Manassas Park Police and (NADDI) National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators. This training covered Abuses of Pharmaceutical Substances, dealing with pathophysiology of addiction, and identifying pharmaceutical drugs. Detective Gaston received training in Pharmaceutical Drugs being shipped from other countries and sold within the United States hosted by the (FDA) United States Food and Drug Administration. Detective Gaston also worked over six (6) years in the United States Army as the Sergeant, Non-Commissioner Officer in Charge (NCOIC), of the Medical Pharmaceutical Special Investigation Division. Detective Gaston has conducted numerous drug arrests for Controlled Dangerous Substance Violations. Detective Gaston’s testimony and said arrests have been accepted by the United States District and has resulted in the convictions of said persons for violations of the Gun Control Act and the Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Act of the United States Code.
